Batam Trip

This post shall be my longest post so far. Yesterday i am too sleepy and lazy to upload photos and update my blog. Heex... so i shall upload photos today if i dun feel tired.

Firstly, We met in school, then there is 1 thing that shocked me is the amount of items we had to carry on top of our belongings to give the orphanage. Each of us had a responsibility to carry the stuff. So sad that i din take a pic of the amount of stuffs. After that a bus took us to Harbour front to take a ferry to batam in the morning. Something happened before the bus depart some people forgot to take the items they are responsible for. In the end, our teacher, Mr Ng said that we pass around the stuff then when he say stop. The last person carrying the stuffs had to carry it all the way to Batam. When he started passing it, everybody was lyk kicking the things lyk football until the plastic bag tear. LOL!

After that, we sat the boat was abt 45mins to 1 hr! At first, for me it was ok but when it was gg to reach, i felt lyk so distracted but not really giddy acutally so Sharon, Veron and me went to the upper deck to see the scenary and waves. It was lyk so windy. My hair keeps flying lyk nobody business. =.=

Batam Fishing Village
Yeps, not long after we reached Batam. The first n only comment i heard was there was so *****(to keep it confidential). The first thing was went or saw was the market there i tink. Then after that there was a short demo on how to take water from the well. I see there lyk the water was ‘super clean’. I can't believe it they actually eat or drink with that water! We managed to walk through the market with a lot of flies on the food. Gosh... yeps i did not manage to see them extracting the coconut flesh cause i too short liaox. =.= I can only see ppl head nia. Haiz... sadded

Due to the wet weather, we had to see the cock fighting indoors. I find it quite fun and amusing just that the children keep running here n there esp when i am video-ing the cock fighting then can see their heads which is so extra.

Lunch
Yeah after the cock fighting was Lunch. We ate at a restaurant and the chair and table there looks high-class but the floor was lyk slippery when we climbed up the stairs to the VIP room. Guess what we had??? Beef Fats, vegetables with beef or sheep etc! Although the food was lyk not that good, i still ate a lot because i am afraid that i will get hungry in the evening because no dinner is provided.

Orphanage Home
We were welcome by the children there although we do not know what they are saying of course. However, i find the most gruesome was the Chicken Slaughtering. We actually witnessed three chickens being killed on the spot. Yes, we saw those gruesome blood, knife and we also heard the screams of the chickens. Honestly, i felt pain for the chickens as they are so cute omg!and irritated at the scene. I was lyk imagining ppl saw yr 3/4 of yr neck n left u to die (slow death), it was totally atrocious even just demo or showed once instead of thrice. However thinking at it, we can't actually blamed on the ppl who killed the chickens because it is part of our survival by being inter-dependent on one another.

After that, we were led to the Orphanage home which they lived and played there. Actually we were supposed to interact n play with them instead, we play individually among ourselves due to communication breakdown. We can't speak malays. Ok Ok not talking abt us even some of our malays friends don't even know how to speak to them therefore dun even need to mention abt us. Yeps.... the 2nd thing is the teachers brought 5 stones and chup teh? Seriously my spelling suxs! Guys play chup teh? Erms... girls play 5 stones . Ya a lot of us do not know how to play. LOL! That's is the funniest lyk as Singaporeans, we ourselves do not know how to play not even to mention abt teaching or coaching them how to play. In the end, we ended up seeing them play.

Tree Planting Ceremony
A guy called Hassan from our school represented us by planting a tree there, and the tour guide even encouraged us to visit batam next year or two years later to see how tall the tree has grown. The tour guide says that probaly it will grow the same height as us. Dunno whether is he kidding or not.

Batam Mall
Next up is one of our most impt reason for everybody who has gone Batam was shopping of course. Xunjia, Sharon, Veronica, Cheemay, Rani and i went in a group to shop together. Because it was encouraged by teachers and the tour guide. But because of the six of us has different things in mind to buy and we only have an hour to shop, we went seperate ways to shop. Veron went with sharon to shop and me and Rani walked around the whole mall yeah... she even went to the ATM to draw money. It was lyk so cool because i nv see ATM machines from other countries before. I bought some food, clothes etc. I like shopping there cause the prices of the goods there are cheap, unlike singapore. I am so unhappy when i come back cause all the clothes that i bought cannot wear i am so sad and felt so stupid to buy all this instead of tibits. Haiz... no point brooding over it actually.

Overall was alright actually. Hahas hope that i could go there again but not for any school trip but for shopping!!!
